Charging and living with it
Charging times vary by variant and charger; see each variant above. Most owners charge at home from a standard socket, and many packs are removable so you can carry the battery indoors to charge. Because the battery is fixed into the frame rather than removable, charging means parking the cycle itself close to a socket, unlike e-cycles where you unclip the battery and charge it indoors separately. Is 50 km a real-world range or just a claim?
It's Geekay's claimed figure, almost certainly achieved on minimal pedal assist under favourable conditions. There is no independent or ARAI test for this e-cycle (ARAI does not test bicycles), so treat 50 km as a best-case number. Using the throttle regularly, riding uphill, or carrying extra weight will bring real-world range down.
Does the Pro+ have a throttle, or is it pedal-assist only?
It has both. You can pedal with motor assistance or use the throttle to move without pedalling, which is useful when you are tired or starting from a stop on an incline. Running on throttle alone will drain the 324 Wh battery faster than the claimed 50 km.
Do I need RTO registration, a licence, or insurance for this e-cycle?
Plain 250W pedal-assist e-cycles with no throttle are legally treated as bicycles in India and need none of these. The Pro+ has a 300W motor and a throttle, which puts it slightly above that threshold, so the position is less clear-cut.
